Nach dem Zweiten Weltkrieg wurden jüdische Holocaust-Überlebende in Internierungslagern "aufgefangen". Erst nach vielen Verzögerungen, weiteren physischen Entbehrungen und Jahren der Ungewißheit war es ihnen erlaubt, in Israel und den USA ein neues Leben zu beginnen.

Jonathan Harris' documentary covers familiar territory concerning the holocaust and it's aftermath. Focusing in the three turbulent years between the end of World War II and the formation of the state of Israel, it offers epic dimension to a complex chain of events. 200 000 European Jewish holocaust survivors were restricted to emigrating to Palestine at a mere 1500 a month. Despite these restrictions, the refugees were determined to reach Palestine, a dangerous and illegal mission.
